Let's Talk About Shaving

I wanted to debunk a couple of shaving myths for you guys. Ever since I have mentioned that I shave my legs I have been getting a lot of questions about it and there are a few things that I wanted you guys to know.

The first myth is that shaving does cause hair to grow back thicker, darker of faster. It is not thicker, only the blunt ends make it seem that way. Once it grows out it takes the shape of your regular hair. It is also not darker as your genetics and DNA determine the colour and growth of your hair and not just shaving. Hair growth is constant for every individual so it isn't faster as well.

The second thing I get asked a lot is does shaving leaves the skin dry and flaky skin? Actually, shaving helps your skin feel smooth by whisking away the top layer of dead skin. You are actually exfoliating your skin, getting rid of the dead skin cells on the top layer and this is why you get a very smooth feel.

The third myth is that shaving causes the skin to darken. It's actually the opposite since it is very exfoliating. Just make sure to use fresh razors, as old ones can cause cuts on your skin resulting in bruises and pigmentation.

Lastly, I've heard people discussing that shaving frequently is bad for the skin. It isn't true. If you have fast-growing, thick hair you may be comfortable shaving every day. Just make sure you're exfoliating your skin on the days after you've shaved and kept it very well moisturized.

That's all for this blog post, let me know if you have any other question in the comments below.

Lakme Enrich Matte Lipstick Review

Hello! How are you doing? I am in this quaint coffee shop, blood rushing with caffeine, and a head full of ideas. I just felt like writing a blog post today, talking to you guys the old fashion way. Not like blog posts are old fashioned, I just haven't been doing it very often lately with YouTube videos taking up most of my time. Anyway, lets get back to on track, I tend to derail my thoughts very much when I am high on coffee. You must talk to Larissa, to find out the things I do when I am high on coffee. See, I derailed again. So, today I wanted to review the new Lakme Enrich Matte Lipsticks. These are the new and revamped, good old Lakme Enrich Lipsticks. Remember the iconic maroon packaged lipstick? Yep, this is the same one, with a matte finish (thank god), and a cuter, clear packaging. There are 20 new shades in this range, and I was very kindly sent 4 shades to try and here's what I think.

These are affordable and you get a really good formula for what you pay. These lipsticks are pigmented, matte and very comfortable on the lips. The colours do not go patchy on the lips, how ever the purple on did go a little patchy and sheer at first, but did get better with the second coat. They kind of smell weird though, if you're a fan of sweet smelling things you'll like it, I don't. The lipstick isn't necessarily long lasting, but it does stain the lips. You will need to touch up when you're out and about.

The colours shown are:

RM13 Buy Here: http://amzn.to/2dFzGfz
This a very warm, deep reddish burgundy shade. Will look wonderful on all Indian Skin tone. It was very hard for me to stop my Mother from taking this because I had to review it. :D

PM11 Buy Here: http://amzn.to/2dWapc6
A beautiful, bright, fuchsia. A stereotypical pink lipstick, that looks good on anything you wear.

WM10 Buy Here: http://amzn.to/2dFPMCf
This is the purple I was talking about that went up sheer first and then much better when reapplied.

OM11Buy Here: http://amzn.to/2dRrgjn
Omg this burnt orange shade was love at first site. IT IS BEAUTIFUL. Period.

These are priced at Rs. 295. Told you it was affordable. Also, if you're wondering if I got a new tattoo, I didn't. This is my lovely friend Shreeja's hand. I borrowed her hand.

Let me know if you'd like to try this for yourself? I think you should, talk to me in the comments down below.

Dupe for Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Rio

You've been asking me for a dupe for the ABH in lipstick in Rio for the longest time and I finally found one. It's the MUA luxe velvet lip lacquer in the shade criminal.

The formula is very similar to the ABH lipstick, pigmented, waterproof, and long lasting. It doesn't apply patchily and dries matte instantly. However, both the lipsticks are very drying and it works best when you apply a good layer of lip balm before wearing either of them.

You can buy it here: http://amzn.to/2c5PAuP

Gillette Satin Care Shaving Gel Review

I have always had this strange fear of shaving. When I first shaved my legs and my hair regrew, I had really itchy legs. I thankfully got rid of that and explained everything I use to prevent that from happening in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04C-urtV7Hw

I recently picked up the gillette satin shaving gel for sensitive skin and gave it a go a couple of times and I thought I should definitely review this product and let you guys know about it. The satin care shaving gel comes in a sturdy spray can, with 195 grams of product in it. You pump the top of the can to dispense the product and a generous amount of the shaving gel comes out. You expect a creamy white foam, like other shaving gels in a can, but it's actually a thick blue/green gel.

I like to dampen my legs or arms with hot water, usually while I am showering, before applying the thick blue gel, which turns into a thick, creamy foam instantly when I spread it into my wet arm or legs. I take two pumps of the shaving gel for each legs and arms and that's enough to cover them up entirely. The foam is very soft, smooth and silky. I love the texture of it, it's like the perfect whipped cream.

The texture of the shaving gel is PERFECT for shaving. The razor glides in very smoothly, giving you a very neat shave and thus reduces the chances of razor burn. I like to use the Gillette Venus Razor to shave my arms and legs. Once I am done shaving, I just rinse all of it off of my legs and arms, and it rinses of really easily, leaving the skin very clean and soft.

I have really sensitive legs and thats why I decided to pick this one up and oh boy am I impressed?! It is an excelent product. Not only is the texture amazingly soft, it leaves the legs feeling very moisturised. This is very, very important if you have sensitive legs. When you shave your legs, the skin is very fresh afterwards, since you're deeply exfoliating your legs while shaving, which is why it is important to use something hydrating/conditioning to shave with. I would highly recoomend this if you're struggling to find a good product to shave with, if you have dry/sensitive legs. I can't use conditioner because it makes my skin much more sensitive and itchy.

It is important to moisturise after shaving, and one of my favourite creams for that is the Palmer's Cocoa Butter, you can get this here: http://amzn.to/2aVOC2R

The Gillette Satin Care Shaving gel is priced at ₹223 and you can buy it here: http://amzn.to/2auPM8Z

The razor I used is the GilletteVenus Razor: http://amzn.to/2b1dkSk

The Body Shop Drops of Light Review

I recently got to try The Body Shop's Drop of Light range, and I have been using it for three weeks now. The drops of light range has a 5‐in‐1 formula to improve healthy brightness, translucency, even tone, minimise the appearance of pores, while leaving skin feeling smooth and supple. This is for those beauties that need brightening, luminosity, and dark spot correction. The range is infused with Red Algae extract which helps in brightening the skin, and Vitamin C which is a potent antioxidant. This is suitable for sensitive skin types.

The range is on the expensive side, as with the rest of the body shop skin care range and the packaging of this range is sturdy and pretty to look at with the white and rose gold theme. The serum is in a glass bottle, though, so not practical for traveling.

Here's my view on the range :

Drops of Light Pure Clarifying foam wash, INR 1,525 : I've been using this every day, as you can see it already has a dent in it. It is a thick cleanser that lathers up really well into a creamy foam and leaves your skin feeling extremely clean. It can be slightly stripping but leaves the skin nice and fresh. I take a coin size amount onto my hands and lather it up and rinse it well. I use this twice a day, after removing my makeup.

Drops of Light Brightening serum, INR 2,050 : The serum is one of my favorite products from the range. It is lightweight and sinks into the skin really fast. It doesn't leave a greasy layer either. Your skin feels refreshed and hydrated. I take 1-2 drops of the serum and press it all over my face before following to the next step.

Drops of Light Pure Healthy Brightening day cream, INR 2,450 : As I've mentioned on Snapchat before, that moisturizing is a must! The day cream is very moisturizing and the leaves the skin nice and plump. I like to use this before I apply my foundation and you might think that will end up feeling greasy, but when you're done massaging it in, my skin soaks it all up leaving it smooth and supple. My foundation goes on very nicely after this.

Talk to me in the comments down below if you've used this range, and which one is your favourite The body shop skin care range.

Garnier Ultra Blends Shampoo Review

Garnier Ultra Blends Shampoo Review

I've had the chance to attend the launch of the new Garnier Ultra Blends shampoos, and I documented my whole experience in a vlog. If you haven't watched that yet, I'd recommend that you watch that first and then jump into reading the review, here.

First things first, all of the shampoos smell amazing. They're all rich and lathers into a thick foam which you can rinse off very easily. The shampoos leave your hair feeling really soft and separated without leaving a residue since these are paraben free. Most of them are suited for various hair types and conditions, so there's one for all. The shampoos also leave you hair looking fuller, and tame the frizz to an extent.

The packaging of the shampoo is very eye catching as well. They all have a golden cap with a leaf carved into it, and a shape very reminiscent of the Garnier Ultra doux range. Each shampoo variant has the colour and pictures of their respective ingredients.

These shampoos are also very affordable and are available in three sizes.

Rs 55 for 75ml
Rs 120 for 175ml
Rs 230 for 340ml

If you know me, you know how obsessed I am with palazzos and all things comfy. My search for them led me to Craftsvilla and to be honest I was pleasantly overwhelmed and spoilt for choice.

How I Make A Perfect Cup of Coffee Using Vero Infuso

I've been getting addicted to coffee lately and the vero coffee machine makes it way better.  I love sipping into a warm cup of thick frothy coffee, it just gets my day started and makes me really productive. I wouldn't lie but makes me really crazy too. I tend to jiggle a lot of work together, and talk a lot more than usual. The vero infuso machine is very easy to set up, takes seconds and brews perfectly. You need to just insert the coffee pod into the machine and thats it.  The pods come in sleeves of 10 each and comes in 4 different types, Seven Seeds, Coorg, Annamalais, and Arabica.

The Vero Infuso machine pours out the perfect strength of esspresso or lungo and the best part is how quick it is. My favourite thing though is the milk frother. Its an electric milk frother, which churns the milk and turns it into a delicious thick foam.

Here's the video on how I like to make the perfect cup of coffee using the Vero Infuso white machine.

  • Insert the Coffee Pod into the machine
  • Press the espresso button
  • Add the Frothed Milk
  • Add a Little bit of coffee powder or chocolate powder to garnish.

You can add sugar to taste, I personally prefer mine without sugar.

Revlon matte top coat review

I've gotten a sudden urge to wear matte nails ever since I had done a matte gel manicure a few weeks ago. I had matte black nails and it made my nails look really good. I had seen the color bar matte top coat a long time ago but never picked that one up, and a few days ago I saw the entire new range of the Revlon matte nail polishes. They have a lot of different matte colours and a top coat. Although the colours looked beautiful, buying a top coat made sense the most because with this I can convert any one of my nail polishes into a matte one.

What I love about the top coat is how fast it dries and it converts any glossy nail polish into a matte one within seconds. Today, I am wearing the shade Lilac Cupcake from Nykaa, which is one of my favourite shades at the moment, topped with the matte coat. The top coat also makes the nail polish really long lasting. I absolutely love the way it flattens the colour and makes it look really sophisticated.

It comes in a tiny bottle priced at Rs 190/- and you can buy it Here: http://clnk.in/dpBm Or Here: http://amzn.to/2awVWEN

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette Review & Swatches

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette Review and Swatches

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette Review and Swatches

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette Review and Swatches

Maybelline just launched the Blushed Nudes Palette, which consists of 12, cool toned, eyeshadows. The colours are all generally pink toned, with shades ranging from soft rosy highlighters, rose gold, and pink toned light and dark greys. The colours are all light and shimmery. There are a few matte-like shades, but they have a slight hint of glimmer in them too.

The eyeshadows are very smooth, but not the most pigmented. The light colours take at least three layers for the colours to show up vividly with a finger swatch and you'll need to use a wet brush to get the desired intensity. The darker greys are much more pigmented, especially the last three shades. Since the texture of the eyeshadows is smooth, it's very blendable, but you need to keep adding back so that the colour doesn't fade away while you're blending.

The shades are very wearable but nothing exceptional that's why I am not blown away by the palette. It's nice but could have been better in terms of the shades and pigmentation. Some of the shades will look very similar when worn.

The Blushed Nudes Palette is priced at Rs 899/- for 12 eyeshadows.
You can buy it here: http://amzn.to/29VmdLD
