Review: Bath and Body works Body Butter

Firstly, I must apologise for the lack of posts here.

Today I wanted to talk about the bath&body works sweat pea body butter. Although it isnt that chilly here but body butter is what quenches my dry skin the best. This is my first time using any bath and body works product and I think it is worth all the hype. It is whisked to perfection. The consisitency is on the thicker side and its very very moisturising.   The best part about this is the smell, no wonder sweat pea is their best selling fragrance.

I dont think so I have been this obsessed about a body butter. The feminine and floral scent lingers in my skin for a long time, which I love! It reminds me of the sweat pea flowers blooming in our gardens back home during spring time.

This was priced at ₹650/- which is pretty Ok when compared to the price of The body shop body butters which approximately ₹995/-

I got mine from the beauty centre at khar.

Knotty to Nice: Kerastase nectar thermique

This is my absolute favourite detangler and heat protectant in one. My hair tends to get very dry at the ends, though oily in the scalp. I use this after I towel dry my hair after a wash, as a leave in conditioner. It helps my comb glide through like a dream, thus reducing hair fall in the process, and locks in the moisture.

I usually let my hair air dry, but if I'm in the mood for a blow dry, I don't need any other heat protectant as this one does the job perfectly. It actually helps me blow dry better, because the hair becomes so smooth, it doesn't get tangled in the round brush.

I like to use it with the shampoo and conditioner from the same range.

It is priced at Rs.2800, and can be found in most L'Oreal Salons.

Have you ever tried this? What's your favourite leave-in conditioner?

Tried and tested :- Maybelline Hyper Sharp eye liner

Maybelline is hands down my favorite high street makeup brand. They bring out exceptionally good quality products and in such affordable pirces

I decided to go fancy with my eyeliner the other day, and the hyper sharp liner was my best friend.

I have so many nice things to say about this I just hope I dont end up rambling about it in the whole blog post. OK lets start with the best things first, it is quite highly pigmented, goes on very smoothly on your  eye lids without pulling on your skin. It doesn't leave a sheer black-ish line most cheap felt tip liners leave on your upper lid. It goes on pretty seamlessly and almost super black, I have seen liners that goes on much blacker than this one, but for 375/- I think it does the job

Look how sharp that tip is!  quite aptly named I must admit. Most felt tip liners that I have used before are either super flexible or too hard, this is just right, not to tight and not so bendy, therefore I don't end up having crazy eyeliner on me. Its like the perfect liner to use when you are in a hurry.

Have you tried this?

Smokey with a hint of Purple

I love smokey eyes, and I thought of brightening it up with a pop of colour.

I started with the brown eye shadow, applied it all over my lids, followed by the black on my crease. I used a blending brush to blend everything together. For highlighting the inner corner I used a shimmering white eye shadow. Finished it up with a black eyeliner, and mascara.

For the pop of colour I used a bright purple underneath, which completed the look.

Products used:
Lakme Colour quartet in Moondust
Lakme Colour Quartet in Violet Oasis
Maybelline hyper sharp eye liner
Oriflame Giordani Gold Supreme length Mascara
Oriflame professional blending brush

Since the eye is on the heavy and dark side, I decided to go nude on my lips.

Two of my favorite nude shades
Loreal Colour Riche 378 Velvet Rose

Faces Cafe Date 05

To finish up the look, I tied up my hair in a top knot.

I tied my hair in a ponytail, divided it into two equal halves, making two rope braids. and tied  them up together, securing the ends with bobby pins.

My experience with Kaya

Some times you just wish if you could have flawless skin overnight, *sigh* but that never happens. Lately I have been breaking out like crazy, I don't know if its just my hormones, or the heat and humidity here, nonetheless I have tried EVERYTHING I can to get rid of my pimples .

I recently moved and there's Kaya skin clinic just next door, so I thought I would give it a try, and I did.

So the dermatologist said I needed 6  salicylic acid peel sessions, and they gave me 4 products with the package and I had to buy the serum.

I was glad that they were included as the package is little bit on the expensive side, but the weird part about all their product is that they don't have the ingredients mentioned in the packaging.

Purifying cleanser: It has salicylic acid in it and does the job. My skin feels pretty clean after I wash with this, and doesn't leave it dry. It lathers up a little bit, and I use a pump and a half.

Purifying Toner:- It contains mandalic acid, and I'm not quite sure what that does, and its non alcoholic, so doesn't have that tingling sensation most toners have, which I actually like about a toner. I'm not a massive fan of  this one, but I'm trying to be consistent with the kaya routine.

Comedone Correcting serum:-  I'm not a fan of this one either, mostly because of the consistency of this product. I think its too watery to be considered as a serum. It is very difficult for me to apply this all over my face with the serum trickling down my palms through the gaps of my fingers *gross* and also leaves my skin feeling sticky.

Blemish control Formula:- I'm still confused  if  I'm supposed to apply all over my face or just on my active pimples. I presume it contains tea tree oil, which is good for reducing redness and pimples, from the smell of it, as the packaging doesn't list the ingredient, so I have to rely on guesswork, .

Daily use sunscreen:- I use this at the end, after all of the ones mentioned above, and only in the morning. It has SPF 15, which is OK. It isn't waterproof or sweat proof, which is really sad as the humidy and heat melts of everything off my face here in Bombay. Also, I kind of start sweating immediately after applying this, especially on my upper lip area, and I just can't understand why.

Sessions start with the dermatologist gently cleaning my skin, wiping away any dust or grime, then she applies the peel, which is essentially pure salicylic acid. Its called "peel" because salicylic acid is a chemical exfoliant, removing all the dead skin cells. The peel was left on my face for 3 minutes in my first session, I had tingling sensation all over my face and I could feel a little burning on my active pimples, and itchiness on my upper lip area ( she did apply some vaseline on my sensitive areas such as the corners of my nose, eyes and lips). As the sessions increased, the peel was left on my face for longer duration. After the peel is neutralized using chilled water, she gives a cold compress using a chilled face towel, followed by a thick mud pack for 15 minutes.

I just had my 4th peel session today ( sessions are 15 days apart), but I still have a lot of acne on my jawline area. The dermatologist said that her clients usually get a little bit of eruptions after the peel, because salicylic acid is a deep exfoliant, and it should subside by the next session. Keeping my fingers crossed and hopes high.

Have you ever undergone any peel sessions? I would love to know your experience with it!

Two Products to Stop Hair-fall!!..

Hey Everyone!!..

Hair Fall!!!!!!.. All of us must have faced it at one point or the other.
I definitely have had my share of terrible hair-fall in the past. It was so bad I almost felt I was getting bald. I was loosing so much hair every time I brushed my hair(100-500) or washed, it got so bad that I was literally scared to touch my hair, scared that I might loose more hair. I used to tie it up in a braid and not comb it the whole day, making it worse. I went to a hair specialist, and got prescribed with some vitamins & minerals, but I didn't see much of a difference in my hair-fall .

This had happened during the time when you could see adds for Dove elixir oils every where, I decided to give it a try, even though I'm not a big fan of Dove hair product line. It was priced  at 180, so I didn't have to think twice before trying and I got the hair-fall rescue one (Rose petal and almond oil).

The interesting thing about this oil was that I could see the ingredients in the bottle, the hair-fall rescue one had rose petals inside it, which I thought was really cool!.

I apply it all over my hair, from roots to tips, an hour before shampooing it out. I could see the difference in my hair from the second wash., the amount of hair in my strainer was significantly lesser, it felt soft and nourished.

The second product that saved my hair, was the shampoo I used. It was a solid shampoo from Lush called "Red"
I dunno where to start with this product, this has literally changed my hair!!.. It has nettle and peppermint infusions, every bar is topped with a cinnamon stick and smells amazing, I don't need an air freshener when this is inside my bathroom :P

The best thing about almost all lush products is that it does exactly what it says, and this shampoo bar is especially for hair-fall. This was the first time I had used the solid shampoo, and I was really excited. I hate shampoos  that don't lather, and this one lathers up amazingly, and a little goes a long long way.. (up to 80 washes,  which is equivalent to 3 lush medium sized bottles) My bar lasted for almost 5-6 months. I use Lush Retread conditioner after I shampoo.

You can check out more details of both these products here and here

I swear by this two, and use it religiously, my hair-fall has gone!!

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope this helps you if you have the same problem!.

This is what I tried and worked for me, I would love to know what worked for you !

Summer Favourites

Hey everyone!..

My favourite summer products:-

  1. Oriflame feet up antiperspirant spray:- This is one of the most unique product I have ever laid hands on, and it has everything that I was looking for. I hate yucky smelling feet, and the heat and humidity here in Mumbai is so intolerably high, so by the end of the day I'm drenched with sweat top to bottom ( gross alert). That's why I never leave my house without spraying this on my shoes and feet, especially if I'm wearing ballerina flats or pumps. Feet up smells so fresh because of the firangipani scent in it, the fragrance lingers for a long time and the formula gives your feet a cooling sensation for awhile. (Rs 399)

Took this picture a long time ago when I was back home in Asssam, never thought I used it somewhere.

2. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock ( SPF 30 ) :-  I hate rubbing on sunscreens that take forever to disappear, and leave a white-ish layer on my skin (ughh)!!.. So when I saw this was a sunscreen which I could just spray on and be done in seconds, I was sold.. It has SPF 30 with both uva & uvb protection, and stays on my skin for a long time as its water and sweat proof.  I first heard of this product from Lisa Eldridge and I absolutely love her suggestions. I never leave my house without spraying this all over my body, even on rainy days. You can't spray it directly on your face though,  however you can spray it on your palms and pat lightly on your face. ( Rs 600)

3. Lush Herbalism :- This is by far one of my favourite purchases from Lush, and this is my second tub of Herbalism. What I love about Lush is that all their products does exactly what it says.. and this one is a face cleanser which promises to fade away acne scars and blemishes. It looks kinda scary when you see it for the first time, I definitely was skeptic at first, it looked like a lump of moss. hahah!!.. But then I started using it, you just need a coin sized amount mix it with water to make a paste out of it, and scrub those acne scars away. This cleanser is made out of rice & almond powder, rose water, and the mossy green colour is the result of the chlorophyl water in it. I didnt see any significant result from the frist use, but as I continued on I could see the change in my skin, it felt smoother, the marks were fading, fewer new zits, I feel like I have an inner glow in my face whenever i use it. It is just a cleanser and will not remove make-up that effectively, you need to use a separate make up remover before using this. I highly suggest you take a look at this product next tiem you pass by lush. This does not lather up like other normal cleansers would, but works beautifully nonetheless.  ( Rs 600 for 100gm)

4. Kate Moss by Rimmel London in no 20:- I"m always impressed with how affordable & incredable Rimmel products are. This is a brilliant bright red with a blue undertone, has great colour payoff, stays on really long leaves a stain on your lips and feels like you haven't worn anything. I love the texture and it has a matte finish but doesn't dry your lips out. Priced at Rs 215 I think its perfect. Plus the packaging is really cute finished with a Kate moss autograph..

5. Colorbar nail paint in Lime Margarita:- Oohh la la this is a real pop of colour on my nails on a hot summery day. It goes on really smooth on your nails  and the best part; it dries up in seconds!! (Rs 175)

6. Oriflame eye dust in lilac:- This little thing has been laying hidden in my shelves for so long that I almost forgot about it. I recently rediscovered it and was experimenting looks with it. Its is very very shimmery with chunks of tiny glitter in a lovely lilac colour, however, it is too sheer to use it as a shadow, so instead I decided to use it as a highlighter for my inner eye corner. Best decision ever, I use it everyday now.
I have it on my inner eyes in the pictures below:-

7. Loreal go 360 clean anti breakout cleanser:- As you probably must have guessed by the name, it is a cleanser for acne prone skin ( me and acne have a unbreakable relationship). This has 2% salicylic acid in it., and why I chose this product instead of tons of other anti acne products out there is because odf the sponge scrubber thingy that comes along with it. I thought this was an incredibly clever idea, this helps lather easily, gently scrubs away those yucky ripe pimples ( is that a word, ripe pimples, lol you get the idea right? ) and cleans into the pores. I have started using this very recently, and have not seen a difference in my skin yet, but I love how it cleans my face and leaves it feeling fresh. I use this at night, after i remove all my makeup, and I like using Herbalism in the morning. (Rs 399)

8. Avon Glimmerstick in blue:- My last product is a blue glittery eye liner from avon, which I also bought a long long time ago. Its this bright indigo colour, goes perfectly with any outfit, and makes my eyes stand out\. What I particularly like about this is that I don't need to use a ton of products along with, just this and a mascara looks like I've put in loads of effort in my makeup. I am not able to find out how much this one was for but it must have been in the range of Rs.180-250.

So that is all of my favourite products for Summer/monsoon, I would love to know yours, do leave me a comment telling what they are!.

My Spring ready Nails..

Here is my take on bright nails for spring.

Mint is one of my favourite colour for spring and summer.
I used the colour 'Misty Jade' from Rimmel's I love long lasting finish collection, which is the mint colour, on all of my nails and for the bright pop of colour I used a tangy orange colour on my ring finger.. To make it stand out a little bit more I added a layer of big chunky silver glitter on top of it..:) :)

What's your favourite spring nail colour??

Lilac obsession *spring fever*

Hey everyone!

So I happened to pass by the rimmel counter at the mall, and I saw this colour and at that very moment, I knew, this was coming home with me.. :)
The colour just screams spring!..Its such a soothing pastel colour, perfect for a hot sunny day..
My mood instantly brightens up every time I look at my nails..

It lasts longer than the other drugstore nail polishes I've used, almost like a week if i didn't do my dishes or laundry :P

My Everyday Makeup Routine

Hey Guys!!..
I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
So today i'm going to be sharing with you all my everyday makeup routine.
I have been using Maybelline colour tattoo in Bad to the bronze all over my eyelid and then finishing it off with a black liner and my favorite mascara Falsies from maybelline.

Maybelline Colour tattoo in Bad to Bronze:-

The colour tattoo is totally worth the hype. It stays on FOREVER, and I have really oily eyelids but this stays put the whole day without any primer underneath.
The Falsies Mascara :
I love how the falsies mascara feels on my lashes, it doesn't clump or anything and gives them a really nice volume and length. Plus maybelline has really nice packaging for mascaras, they are always in bright colours like yellow or purple. Pretty packaging always attracts me.

For the liner I used Maybelline Gel liner in Black.

Maybelline The dream mousse foundation:-

And for my face, no surprises here, another product from Maybelline. It is amazing!!!... Its not so pricey, and gives really nice coverage. I like to simply apply it with my hands, but i think using it with a wet sponge or a brush might give an even better finish.

To set it all up I use my favorite powder from Rimmel, the stay matte powder that absorbs all my oil and keeps me shine free all day long. This product deserves its own blog post. Which I will be doing pretty soon for you guys..

I keep the eye same pretty much every day and wear a different lip color with it, since its so neutral i think all lip colors look really good with it.

I am loving the revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm or lets just call them JBKLBs ... in the colour smitten eprise..

So thats my everyday makeup routine.. I would love to know how you do your makeup everyday. If you have a blog, please leave your link in the comment I will surely check it out.. :)

Review: Rimmel Lipsticks

Hey guys!! so today I'm going to be talking about these Rimmel Lipsticks that i have been loving .. The best thing about them is the price. Its just for Rs.250, and super pigmented. They have an amazing colour range and this two were my favorites.

The one on right is Cutting edge and its this really pretty purple shade, and the one on the right is Heart Breaker, which is a lovely bright fuchsia. In terms of wear i think they stay on for like almost 6 hours, unless you eat something.

I know they look really similar on my hands, please forgive my photographic skills.. :P

I'm wearing the shade Heart Breaker below:-

And Cutting edge here:-

I loved the Vampy look it gave me!!..

So to sum it up all I think Rimmel has some great products and they are really affordable. I absolutely love their nail polishes and lipsticks. There is this another product that I LOVE and I'm going to be talking about it real soon here. It's for all you oily girls out there like me ;) ;)

I would love to know if any of you have ever tried their Lipsticks, and if so which is your favorite?
I hear there's a new Kate Moss Collection, has anyone tried it yet?
