Is it worth the Buck | Elizabeth Arden Intervene Foundation

I talk a bit about this in my previous post : Current Foundations.

A detailed post was necessary for me to explain my thoughts on the Elizabeth Arden Intervene Foundation.

Elizabeth Arden Intervene (Soft Sun Beige 03, Rs. 1130/-)

The packaging is pretty neat, you have the standard Elizabeth Arden Red Door Box, and a translucent bottle showing off the shade, which is handy, and a pump on top, maintaining hygiene. It doesn't look that luxurious, but better than few high street ones.

It has light to medium coverage, blends decently, and supposedly natural looking. In the second picture, that is one pump, the consistency is nothing out of the ordinary, a thick liquid foundation (not  mousse), and the third picture I dab it on my arm using my clean fingers. As you can see, it tends to settle into the fine lines of the skin, it looks decent here, but on my face it ends up looking cakey. Even a little bit looks like a lot, which is not a good thing.  I have tried using it with a wet sponge, so that it blends into a natural finish, but that didn't help either. If I use it with a foundation brush, it ends up looking streaky. I just don't know what to do.

It has an SPF 15, which is good, for everyday wear, but I just don't feel like wearing it everyday because it feels so heavy, I just want to wash my face as soon as I reach back home.

At first I thought maybe my skin was dehydrated, or maybe I was applying the foundation to soon after my moisturiser. But that was not the case. I drank lots and lots of water, dabbed on my clinique dramatically different moisturiser and the effect was still streaky, and highlighted my flaws instead of hiding them. I might have got the wrong shade too, what do you think? ( picture 4 )

I have great respect for the brand, and they have some AMAZING products, like the eight hour cream, my expectation was bit more from this foundation, and from the price point as well. I might as well have bought the Revlon Colourstay foundation for Rs 200 lesser.

So is it worth the buck?

That would be a NO from me.

I really would love to read your reviews and experience with this foundation. Please leave the link down below in the comment section. We can all learn from each other.
