Monthly Favourites | January

Its that time of the month again; Monthly favourites time. A monthly favourites video was supposed to go on the first day of February but #fail, so I decided to write a post instead.

Neutrogena oil free moisture:- I love my Clinique dramatically different moisturising gel, but was too lazy to search for it under the pile of cloths in my hotel room one day, so I decided I'll use my friend's cream, the bottle said "oil free" in bold so I used it, and then I fell in love. 😍
If you have oily and sensitive skin I recommend this HIGHLY!  You'll think I have decieved you when you first apply this, but just you wait for it to be absorbed, you can actually feel your skin matify. If you have dry skin you might not like this but if you have very oily skin like me, you will cherish the feeling. The perfect base for foundations. Its priced at ₹299 for 118ml.

Oriflame Hair X extreme Volumising Mousse:- I have a love hate relationship with oriflame products. January was a month where I decided I will use up my neglegted products. We all have those stuff we loved once so dearly but now they sit in the corner, forgotten & collecting dust. This is how started reusing mousse, fell in love, and used it every time I washed my hair. I use it on towel dried hair, and blow dry to activate it. I dont blow dry my entire hair, just dry the roots so it looks like I have a lot of hair. Its all about the deception guys. ;)
This doesn't leave my hair sticky or weigh it down so I can still leave at least 3 days between washes. You can check the oriflame website for its price.

Clinique anti blemish solutions clarifying face mask:- Another soldier from my everlasting battle with acne. 😒 I'm supposed to use it twice a week but to be honest it happens only once, usually on Saturday nights. I like to use it when i can feel my skin has collected a lot of gunk and when there is a new pimple erupting. I put a thin layer on, the clay  dries up instantly within seconds, and leave it on for 5 minutes. My skin feels deeply cleaned after I wash my face, and follow it up with my Neutrogena oil free moisturiser.

Lips:- I had been gravitating towards softer pinks in January, you know like your lip colour but better. On days that I want matte lips I reached for my Chambor powder matte lipstick in sugar pink, and for days i wanted slightly glossy lips I used the L'OrĂ©al Shine caress in bella. Both of these are soft pinks, moisturising and lasted long on me. The shine caress lip-glosses doesn't have good colour payoff that's why I chose this almost nude pink, instead of the Fuchsia one, which I was really tempted to buy.

For lip balm I used the oriflame Tender care, a lot, especially before bed. It works wonders on my lips.

Eyes:- I have been wearing The body shop eye-shadow in caramel flirt a lot this month. It is very similar to my skin tone so I use it all over my eye lids followed by eye liner of any colour. It has replaced my Maybelline bad to the bronze. The L'OrĂ©al smoky quartet in Marron GlacĂ© has really good pigmentation, so on days I wanted a more contoured look I used this.

Maxfactor liquid effect eye pencil in black fire is the kohl of the month. Waterproof, smudge proof, and the little blue smudge brush has come really handy. I just wish it came in a rotating, self sharpening pencil.

Volume million lashes is the mascara of the month. I have been wearing this ever since I bought it. Separates my lashes perfectly and adds tons of volume. I never thought I would like any other mascara other than the maybelline falsies.

Since this is my first monthly favourites, I thought of making it extra special by sharing with you some of the products that I loved this month. I will be sharing the Neutrogena Oil free Moisturiser, Shine Caress Lipgloss, Volume Million lashes mascara, and the L'Oréal smoky quartet in Marron Glacé. I will be choosing the winner from the comment section.

  1. By your description, I need the Neutrogena moisturizer. I hope you didn't find it too drying? I need the Clinique Face Mask too! I sort of want the mascara but I already like my Colossal Mascara & I'm debating if it's worth the price difference. I did a favorites video but if I had to pick just one thing it would be the Revlon JBKBS in Romantic. Going to do the facebook & twitter share now, keeping my fingers crossed ;)

    1. It hydrates your skin so you no longer feel that weird pulling sensation after face wash, it has a cleansing cream consistency at first, I was scared thinking it was going to end up very greasy, but then it disappears quickly. So my skin feels quenched and matte at the same time. I don't know if this helps, I wish they had a sample for you to try. Maybe the Neutrogena outlet in Palladium has a tester, so you can try it there before you buy.
Oh I love the Colossal Mascara, it was the first mascara I ever bought. The L'oreal one was a impulse buy that I ended up liking a lot. I watched your favorites video!!. I really want to try the oriflame cream blushes and the Rimmel Shadow Stick.

      Good Luck!!.. :)

The "L'Oréal smoky quartet in Marron Glacé" really did manage to catch my attention. The colour palette is easy on the eyes (literally :P). Subtle shades... perfect to create smokey eyes and extremely wearable, even during the day!
