Bourjois 123 perfect CC cream review

I am a massive Lisa Eldridge fan, and if you don't know who she is, please go check her blog and her YouTube channel. I bought the healthy mix foundation because of her and it is one of my all time favourite foundations. You can read my thoughts about it in my Current foundations post.

Recently, she had mentioned the 123 perfect CC cream in two of her videos & blog posts and I was really intrigued. I had to try it, and now that I have it, I think this is one of best purchases I've ever made. I never thought I would join in the CC bandwagon and here I am.

I got the shade no 33 rose beige that matches my complexion perfectly, I am very happy with the color matching and its one of the reason why I liked it a lot. It has light to medium coverage which blends evenly like a dream, and is very build able.. It color corrects the skin perfectly so you achieve an even skin tone which doesn't look cakey, or heavy, it just looks like your skin but better. It doesn't give that "foundation" look on your face, and gives a beautiful, non-dewy but radiant finish.

If you have heavy discoloration, pigmentation, acne scars, or dark circles you will need to use concealer along with it, because you can't expect a cc cream to have a coverage like a concealer.

I apply it using my clean finger, blending it outwards starting from the middle of my face, and use a brush only to blend out the edge. If you have normal to dry skin. you are done, but I have very oily skin so I go ahead and slightly dust my T-zone with powder. It lasts really long, a good 7-8 hours and doesn't slide off your face even when it is sweaty and greasy. It is oil free, which is always a good thing for all us oily skin girls, and also has SPF 15 making it perfect for daily wear. The tube has a narrow nozzle head which makes it convenient to squirt the product out.

I have used it for a week now, I wear it around 10 am in the morning, come back home by 8 pm and its still there on my face, it looks a little worn out, but intact, and it didn't break me out.

It is priced at Rs 710 for 30ml and has 4 shades to choose from 31 Ivory, 32 Light Beige, 33 Rose beige, and 34 Cream Bronze.

Do you want to try the Bourjois CC cream? What are your thoughts on BB/CC creams, please let me know in the comments below.

Spring Lipsticks #2

I love sporting a candy colored lip during hot sunny days. It just makes the day brighter. On the second edition for my Spring Lipstick series I chose the L'Oreal Color Riche in the color 378, and the Lakme Plump and shine Lip gloss, whose shade I couldn't find written anywhere in the packaging.

Summer Foundations | TBS Mineral Powder Foundation

If you have watched my TBS haul, you'll remember I bought the Mineral foundation, and was really looking forward to using it. I was waiting for my Real Technique brushes to arrive but sadly it got lost in the mail, so I got the TBS slanted Kabuki brush ( also at 50% off)

Spring Lipsticks #1

Nothing like a bright pop of color on your lips during spring time. As the weather is getting warmer, I decided that I needed to wear cooler tones on my lips and so I went on a hunt to find a perfect cool shade for spring.

How to take care of Contact Lenses and your Eyes.

I have been wearing contact lenses for more than 7 years now, and whatever I know now is  because I learnt from all the mistakes I had made. This is the guide I wish I had when I first started wearing lenses. I have never worn colored lenses, but I guess the rules are the same.

Mani-Monday | Maybelline ColorShow Swatches

I only picked up so many at once because of the price, which was only Rs 66 from the Beauty Center at Khar Road. I have been hearing great things about the Maybelline Color Show range, and I needed some office-friendly nail polishes.  (thus the three neutral shades) These are the ones I picked up:

First Impressions | Love Long Hair Blind Test

A very interesting thing happened yesterday afternoon, I received my @lovelonghair shampoo and Conditioner Samples. It is a blind test, i.e. the brand name isn't mentioned, so that my review is unbiased.  I am so excited to try this out, I was reading about it in almost all the beauty blogs, and was thrilled when #lovelonghair kindly sent them for me to try. It feels so nice to be part of something so exciting like this.

It came in a plain white bottle, with their logo and a label differentiating the Shampoo and Conditioner. I thought I would recognize the brand by the smell of it, but it doesn't smell like anything I have used before. (the anticipation is killing me).

The shampoo and the conditioner are both white in colour, and thick in consistency. I washed my third day hair, which was a little greasy in the scalp, and washed it twice, the shampoo lathered up pretty well, neither too much that it would strip your hair out of all its moisture, nor too less that it wouldn't clean the scalp at all. I could feel all my strands align together all smooth and silky as soon as I rinsed the shampoo off. The conditioner is thicker than the shampoo, and smoothed my hair even further by detangling it. I left it on for around 5 minutes before I rinsed it off with cold water.

It has a pleasant smell that lingers on your hair after you shampoo. I didn't notice any added hair fall after using the shampoo, if a shampoo doesn't suit me then I tend to shed a lot of hair whilst shampooing, but thankfully that wasn't the case here.

I let my hair air dry, and didn't apply any leave in conditioner, just so that I see the results of only this range. It dried very soft to touch, wasn't tangled at all, and didn't weigh my hair down. I have long hair which needs a lot of care and time, and products like these certainly help because it is adding back moisture and detangling it, therefore reducing hair fall due to breakage.

It is really hard to say what I exactly feel about it, and will be able to write a better review after few washes. But my first impression on it is very good and I will definitely wash my hair the second time with it.

Luckily for me, I don't have to wait much longer to know what brand this is as they are about to reveal it in two days from now, so make sure you follow @lovelonghair on twitter to find out.

Mani-Monday | Revlon Colorstay in Rain Forest

I didn't own any nail polish from the Revlon Colorstay range, and heard really good reviews about their longevity. I got no 220 Rain forest which is a glittery moss green shade. I have an unhealthy addiction to anything glittery, so I just knew this was coming home with me.

It's not a quick-dry formula so the drying time isn't that impressive, it's quite thick in consistency and leaves a perfect finish in two coats. I'll update on the wear time in few days.

Update:- It didn't last that long. I applied it on Sunday night, and it started chipping by Tuesday. Apparently, it only works if I used it along with the base and top coat of the same range ( according to the SA). Now I am rethinking if it was worth the money I paid for, which was Rs. 300 for 12ml bottle. Hmmm. What do you guys think?

Oh so Lush...

Is just me or is Lush vanishing away form India one store at a time?

Throw back Instagram picture .
Lets Talk about two of my favourite Lush Face products.

Please don't judge me for the dust embedded lid, its just well loved.
This one does exactly what it says on the lid, softly scrubs your skin & magics away blemishes. Never in a million years, I could have imagined anything that was written on the cover of a product would literally happen, but lush products does exactly what it says. At least the ones that I have tried. OK so if you have been following me for sometime now, you might know that I am very prone to acne, and my face seems to gift me with a new pimple every other day. So here it is, another soldier from the acne fighting army, the herbalism facial cleanser.
I hate non frothy anything; if it doesn't lather I will hate it. But this one opened my mind, and made me realise that lather isn't the only thing that can get rid of the grease from my face. It looks kinda scary/gross at first, like dried-granulated green moss. But don't go by it's appearance, because it works wonders. You need to take a pea sized amount, and mix in few drops of water and make it into a paste ( wet-gooey green moss :P ) and spread in into your damp face (not wet), gently scrub for a minute or two, then rinse it all off. Do not pick the cleanser off the tub with wet hands, you will contaminate it, its like paradise for fungus, trust me I have learned it the hard way.
The almond granules in it gently scrubs away those hard, gritty, white dead skin mixed with dried blood that is left behind by a dried acne ( this is getting gory) efficiently, without irritating your skin. The Rice bran and Kaolin in it, soaks in all the excess oil and mattifies your face . It has other ingredients like rose oil which helps in hydrating your skin, so your skin doesn't feel stripped off once you dry it off with a towel. The green colour comes from Chlorophyll extracts. Does it remove makeup? No, its not a makeup remover, its for cleaning your face/skin after you remove your makeup.
It has helped my sensitive skin calm down a lot, and also made it smoother because of the exfoliation. I have noticed my skin become clearer, and the acne scars lightening.

Grease Lightening

I follow up my cleansing with a moisturiser, and then straight to spot treatment gel. I use this at night, because it can have that PVA glue effect ( glue drying and peeling off like skin ) which isn't a look that you would want to have in the daytime. It dries up hard, so you feel like you have botox face, that's why you need to apply it just where the pimple is (or the active volcano as I like to call it). I wouldn't say this works like magic, don't expect your volcano to vanish in one night, it will shrink it down, and with continued use, that's like 2-3 nights, it will eventually kill it. It has a lot of ingredients, known to fight off acne very effectively, all mixed to make a potent pimple killer.
I have used my fair share of spot treatments and this is the one that I have stuck to.

What's your favourite lush cleanser?

Review | Moroccan Oil

This one is a cult favourite.

I have seen this change my hair, Literally. I have shied away from reviewing this for a long time now because so many people talk about it. But then I thought I'd bite the bullet and go ahead. It is available for  Rs. 2450/- at leading Salons across India, and I got mine from Jean Claude Beguine. You can also get few products at,,

I was actually looking for the light version of the oil, but they didn't have it ,so decided to go with the original formula, and I am so happy I made that decision. I have really really dry ends, so it is a match made in heaven.

It is a rich, thick oil, so you only need a drop of it. I use half a pump for my entire hair, which is almost waist length. One thing I have noticed after using this is that I wouldn't say it effectively de-tangles knotty hair, but leaves them super smooth. If I blow dry my hair, I like to use it before and after.I like to emulsify it well on wet hair, so that the oil is evenly distributed.

I tried to make a list of the reasons why me ( and my hair ) loves Moroccan Oil, and its random, not in any particular order.

How is it superior from other serums/oils out there:-

You will feel like touching your hair more often after using Moroccan oil. ( please avoid doing that)

Doesn't leave your hair greasy or oily, heck it doesn't even leave your hand feeling greasy, I just applied some onto my edges, and I didn't have the urge to go wash my hands and then type this post.

It has a pleasant smell, which doesn't linger for long, and doesn't leave your hair sticky.

It reduces drying time, makes my hair look nourished, glossy, and it feels soft & manageable.

Have you ever oiled your hair overnight, with warm coconut oil, mixed with a little bit of olive oil, wrapped your hair up in a warm towel for 10 minutes, washing it off the next day and going oooohh & aahhh touching and feeling your hair the next day? Yup, that's what it does in one drop.

It is multi-purpose. You can use it as a detangler, leave-in treatment ( of course), heat protectant, deep conditioner, and it will last long ( more than 6 months at least).

Because it is so hydrating, you wont be prone to split-ends and will also prevent hair loss due to breakage.

You can feel your comb glide through and will basically love your hair after this.

This stuff is god sent!.

Have you tried Moroccan Oil?
