Never in a million years would this have happened, but yes, I bought a pink eyeshadow..

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you might already know that I had a wedding to attend. My brother got married this May, and I did my sister in law's makeup for the reception. Before I left for home, I was going through my stash to arrange all the makeup, brushes etc I would need to do her face, and I realised that all my eye shadows are neutrals and I didn't have anything that would be jazzy enough for a wedding, heck I didn't even own a proper gold eye shadow. I knew I could find all the colours that I was looking for at Inglot or M.A.C but I didn't want to spend so much on something which I wouldn't use that often. My search for these eyeshadows ended when I saw these at the NYX counter and these were perfect for the occasion and my wallet. These are priced at Rs 375 each.

Hot Crystal is a white shimmery eyeshadow which has chunky light reflecting golden and multicoloured glitters. This looks beautiful on the brow bone and also on the cheekbones because of how beautifully it reflects the light. It can look a little too much if gone overboard so use a light hand while applying and make sure you have a tissue underneath to get rid of the fly-aways. The best way to get rid of stubborn glitters off your face is by pulling it off using cellotape.

Cherry is a hot pink eyeshadow that looks less scarier on the eyes than seen here on the pot. I knew my sister-in-law would be wearing a pink&golden sari on reception day, so I thought I could use a similar colour on her eyes too. The colour comes off very pigmented on the brush but still looks very subtle on the eyes. It is perfect for occasions where you would want to wear something different. I wouldn't wear this eye shadow everyday but I would love to try it someday.

Antique Gold is exactly the gold I was looking for. So pigmented and smooth it looks amazing with any colour you pair it with. Ahh! I am just in love with this shade, and I know I will be wearing this a lot.

If you are wondering where you can get your hands on NYX cosmetics, I got these at the New Beauty Centre at Khar Road, Mumbai.  Nyx is also availabe on major online stores like and

Have you tried NYX eye shadows? Which is the jazziest eyeshadow you own?
