This is WAY out of my comfort zone, and I very rarely venture out of the neutrals when it comes to eyeshadows, but I took a plunge and tried a very bold smokey look. I wanted to try something edgy and just play with the eyeshadows that might have been feeling left out. The hardest part of the look wasn't achieving the smokey effect, but actually pulling it off, which I am not sure I did.
It was fairly simple to achieve it using only two products. I scribbled the Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Stick in Blackmail, all over my eyelid, from the lash line to the crease, and blended it using the shade "Midnight black" from The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes Pallete no 20. The key to obtaining this look is blending. You need to blend, blend and blend until there are no harsh edges, and it all looks seamless and very smokey. Use a cellotape starting from the corner of your eye towards the end of your brows before you begin to attain that neat, straight line on the edge. I used the shadow stick to line my lower lash line as well, blended it with midnight black again and added a touch of the shade "snow white" from the same palette on the inner corners. I really needed to get my eye brows done when I wore this look, so I didn't apply any of the highlight shade on my brow bone. I added two coats of Benefit's They are Real mascara to make the eyelashes stand out against the dark backdrop. More on this mascara will be up very soon.
I applied The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream with my fingers as a base, Loreal Rouge Caress Lip Gloss in Bella to add a sheer pink tone on my lips and added a dash of colour on the cheeks using NYX Blush in Silky Rose.
