I dread changing my bag every day because I worry I might have left something essential in my previous bag. This has happened many times, and the thought of leaving home without lip balm really worries me. I have had makeup bags in my bag but all of them were either too large or too bulky. I decided that I need to purge out the not so essential products and keep the ones I really use/need.
Most of the products I carry are to help me transform my look from day to night. For the eyes I like to carry a black eyeliner and mascara. Right now I have the Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in 261 Noir and Oriflame Giordani Gold Supreme Length Mascara. This eyeliner is one of my favourites; it is really smooth, black and waterproof and has the one of the best sponge tip on the other end to smudge the eyeliner to create a quick smoky look. I love using this smudger for my other eyeliners as well as this does the job perfectly; it also has a sharpener stealthily hidden under the smudger, perfect for when I need a sharp edge to draw a winged liner. The Oriflame Giordani Gold Supreme Length Mascara was one of my go to mascaras earlier this year but I have started neglecting it ever since I got my hands on the Loreal Volume Million Lashes and Benefit They’re real. I still adore it, so I put it in my makeup bag to make more use of it. I hardly reapply mascara, but there are certain situations I wish that I had a mascara along with me to camouflage my tired looking eyes.
Ever since I saw Amelia’s post on the Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip cheat Lip liner, I realised I had something very similar to it, and have been wearing it non stop ever sine. It is the Max factor Colour elixir Lip Liner in Pink Princess, and it is beautiful. I love defining my lips with it and wear the L’Oréal Rouge Caress Lip Gloss in Bella, but I just bought M.A.C Cosmo which goes perfectly over it. I have also been loving the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker to glam up my lips and make them look glossy, full and perky. This gloss is very effervescent and you get a tingly sensation on your lips which makes them look twice the size they are. It’s very long lasting, hydrating and it actually works. I love wearing it. The Burt’s Bees Lip balm are so good at moisturising your lips and I like to use it before I use the lip liner. I like to toss in the lipstick of the day in my makeup bag, but it never really gets out.
I don’t like carrying any base or concealer as I hardly ever reapply them. My face becomes really greasy at the end of the day, and by the end of the day I feel very disgusted to touch my face let alone apply something over it. However, I do like to powder my face just so that the excess grease is soaked up and my face doesn’t look like a frying pan. I love using the Rimmel Stay Matte powder as it has a slight coverage in it and it is one of the best powders for oily skin. As you can see in the picture, this powder has been very well loved. I use it with the Real Technique by Samantha Chapman Contour brush from their core collection because of it’s size. It is small enough to fit into my make up bag without loosing it’s shape and its also easy to apply the powder right where I need it, like my T-zone.
This happens VERY RARELY but sometimes I like to wash off my face when I am out when the situation needs me to ( a birthday party with cake on my face, or maybe a bird shat on me) I received a sample of the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash, and if you read my post on What’s on my Travel Makeup bag you might already know that all my samples go inside my makeup bag. I was an avid user of this face wash in my college years and the smell of it always makes me nostalgic.
My mirror is from Forever 21 beauty and it used to say ‘I need lipstick’ once upon a time, but has sadly faded away, and the makeup bag is from ONLY. I love how the bag is grey but with a neon pink chunky zip. I am not sure if it was a makeup bag or a Sunglass cover, but the shape and size is perfect for the things I carry and it fits inside all my bags.
