Sugar Cosmetics Matte As Hell Lip Crayon (Holly Go lightly) Review

Hey everyone, its Fareeha from Freiha Writes and today I'm going to talk to you guys about one of my favorite matte lipstick shade: Sugar Matte As Hell Lip Crayon in Holly Golightly.

This shade has become my 'ride or die' of late.
Packaged in a pencil/crayon form, this lipstick is a gorgeous pink/brown/nude shade hybrid. It reminds me of the shades Kylie Jenner regularly sports on her lips. It has a very creamy consistency and applies very easily on the lips. Two swipes give me opaque pigmentation.

Be warned, though, this lipstick emphasizes dry patches crazily. Make sure that your lips are well hydrated and exfoliated prior to application, otherwise it can look very unflattering. It lasts on my lips for 3-4 hours.

I've become a fan of this shade, fallen head over heels for it. And Holly Golightly is such a beautiful everyday shade that I always keep reaching for it!

My only niggle with this product is that it needs to be sharpened like a pencil, which leads to product wastage. If Sugar were to repackage this lippie in a retractable tube form, I'd love them even more for it!

Price: Rs. 799 (it comes with a complimentary sharpener if you order from the Sugar Cosmetics official website. Also, they have a nifty coupon code where you can save 10% on your first purchase!)

Inglot Eye Makeup Base Review

So well, its been a while since I have been looking for a Good Eye makeup base, and also seen everyone raving  about the Mac Paint Pots. However, the MAC Paint Pots do come at a whooping price of Rs. 1450/-. And since, I don't use eyeshadows on a day to day basis and only use them on occasions, I wasn't too keen on splurging so much on an eye shadow base.

So one day while I was checking out the Holi Offers on Nykaa, I stumbled upon the Inglot Eye Makeup Base. And it looked so much similar to the Mac Paint Pots. After having read few reviews about the same, wherein some bloggers even mentioned it to be a Dupe for Mac Painterly Paint Pot, I was quite excited to try it out. I got it For Rs. 800/- from Nykaa

Packaging : It comes in a sturdy little black round tub. The only con is you have to dip in your fingers / brush to take the product out.

Texture : It is a nude skin colored thick creamy textured base.

My Experience : Since the Inglot Eye Makeup Base is creamy and skin colored it doubles up as a good concealer to hide those pigmented eyelids of mine. At the same time providing a smooth base for eye shadow application. Even though the texture is a thick cream, it is very blendable without having to tug and rub the sensitive eyelid area.

My eye shadows, even the most paler ones did look much more vibrant after using the Inglot primer as a base. The colors actually seem so much more pigmented and bright on the Eyelids when applied over this Base. Coming to the longevity, since I do not have oily eyelids, I had no issues of creasing and the eye shadow stayed put for a long time.

I cannot really claim the Inglot Eye Makeup Base to be a dupe for MAC Painterly Pot since I haven't used the latter yet, but this for sure is a cheaper investment if you are looking for a good eye makeup base, especially for beginners :)

Freiha Writes x All She Needs: What's In My Makeup Bag (Summer Edition)

Hey everyone! Its Fareeha from Freiha Writes and today I'm going to be talking about something very exciting!

Summer is well and truly upon us. Each day seems hotter than the last. But makeup fanatics (like myself) won't let the heat deter us from wearing makeup and putting out best face forward, right?

I'm going to give you a sneak peek into my summer makeup bag and letting you know about the products I've been reaching for:

Base: SPF is a must. Its non negotiable, especially in our sweltering Indian summers. I apply a thin layer of Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock all over my face. It protects my skin from the sun, while leaving a nice base for makeup.

On most days, I tend to skip foundations. There's simply no point in working hard on your base and having it melt right off the moment you step out into the sun. I leave foundations for night time and bad skin days. Usually, I apply the Lakme CC Cream in shade Bronze all over my face using my trusty Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. For under eyes and blemishes, the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is what I've been loving this summer. Its light, easy to blend and gives good coverage.

After everything is done, I set my base with the Maybelline White Superfresh Compact. Its a great, affordable powder.

Cheeks: For adding a slight contour and warmth to my face, I apply the Makeup Revolution Ultra Bronze bronzer all along the perimeters of my face: my temples, under the cheekbones and along the jawline. I'm a fan of this bronzer since it is completely matte, with zero shimmer or glitter.
I apply my bronzer with the Real Techniques Multitask Brush.

Brows: To fill in my brows, I use a mixture of the powder and wax from my Sleek Brow Kit (Extra Dark). Its absolutely brilliant. Doesn't budge all day and still looks natural.

Eyes: No eye-shadow/eyeliner play during the day. I leave smokey eyes for night time. During the day, I keep it simple: curling my lashes with my Inglot Eyelash Curler and giving them a few coats of the Maybelline Hyper Curl Mascara (the waterproof version, obviously).

Lips: I've been a huge lover of the matte lip trend and one of my all time favorites is the Revlon Colorstay Matte Balm in Sultry. Such a Kylie Jenner-esque shade, it looks beautiful on Indian complexions.

There you have it, my loves! My summer makeup routine. Also, if you like my makeup bag, I got it from Chumbak.

Bye for now, peeps! I'll be seeing you in the next Freiha Writes x All She Needs post!

Lakme has a new illuminating range out and I have three shimmery lipsticks from this range. These lipsticks are very buttery and soft with flecks of silver and golden shimmer in it. These lipsticks are very 90s like, because of the frosty finish, and I am not the biggest fan of shimmery lipsticks. The shades are pretty pigmented, applies opaque in two swipes. The red and pink are the most pigmented. Since the formula is creamy, the lipstick feathers a lot on the lips. You can also smear the lipstick very easily if you accidently touch your lips while talking or doing anything else, so be careful of random lipstick marks all over your face. These also leave behind a hard to remove glitter residue, so if you've got some on your face, beware of some pesky glitter left behind. These lipsticks also smell heavily of a sweet, strawberry sort of fragrance that lingers even if you wipe them off. Since the lipstick is sitting right under your nose, the sweet smell can get overwhelming. I personally do not like the fragrance.

The shades I have from the Lakme absolute illuminate range are:

Pink Flash: bright fuchsia shade with pinkish-golden glitters.
Tropical Shine: peachy, warm toned golden shade with lots and lots of golden glitters. A very 90s lipstick.
Crimson Blink: a bright red shade, again with lots and lots of golden flecks. The most pigmented of them all. Stained my keyboard as I am typing this.

These are available online for Rs 700.

Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Blush Bronze and Brighten Flush palette review

If you are someone like me who likes to Travel light and prefer to carry multi-utility products or the miniature version of a product then this product is for you. Today I am going to be talking about the Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Blush, Bronze and Brighten Palette - Flush.

The 'Blush, Bronze & Brighten' palettes, as the name suggests, each contains a blush, bronzer and highlight powder - All of them are big pans of products but the palette is still compact and sleek, whilst housing a good sized mirror.

I really like the concept of having a bronzer, blusher and highlight all in one palette as it makes things very easy when applying your makeup and it comes in handy without having to hunt out each product. I also think it is great to have a multi-use product such as this when it comes to travel as this combines three products in one, saving a lot of space and weight.

As you can see this has a really nice quality look, it has the sheen that you may have come to expect from Makeup Revolution products and it has the iconic rose gold script that I love so much. This palette looks like they're worth far more than their, unbelievable, Rs. 850/- price tag.

Price : Rs. 850/- available on NYKAA

These palettes are Available in 4 amazing shade variations :  Rave, Flush, Smoulder and Golden Hot.

I got myself the Flush Palette since it was the only palette available in stock on Nykaa at that time and I really wanted to get my hands on this beauty.

The bronzer is just slightly darker than my skin tone probably just a shade darker so it isn't a very dark bronzer but would work as a subtle everyday natural looking bronzer which is perfect!

The Highlighter has a pretty honey tone in it and it gives the correct sheen to my skin. It is great for my NC 42 skin tone.

The Blush is a beautiful peachy-pinky-coral blush which just gives a flush of colour on my cheeks

The formulation of these palettes is really good; they're very pigmented, blend well and last all day on me. They also have a silky smooth texture and so are extremely easy to apply without feeling chalky.

I definitely feel you should get this palette and you will be sorted. the shade range is good so there is a palette for every skin tone. Rave - is best suited for paler Skin tones & Golden hot is best suited for Darker Skin tones in that order :)

Have you tried these palettes or any other Makeup Revolution products, What are your favourites?

Clarins White Plus Tri-Intensive Brightening Serum Review.

Whitening one's skin tone is the biggest craze in India and so many brands attract a large number of people to believe that they need their skin to be fairer. I for one am against this concept and hate the idea, everyone should be comfortable in their own skin. Brightening, on the other hand, helps you revive your skin if you feel like it has started looking dull and lacking lustre.

Clarins Tri-Intensive Brightening Serum is lightweight, sinks into your skin fast and helps brighten your skin over time. It is a treatment that needs to be applied before your moisturiser, once in the morning and at night as well. You will notice a healthy glow with regular use. I've noticed it also plumps and firms my skin as well. Make sure you apply a moisturiser after this to seal it or else it will evaporate away from your face.

Clarins describes a certain way to apply this product. It requires to apply it with light pressing motions on the face and neck instead of dabbing or rubbing it against your skin.

I have noticed it did make a difference on my skin, ever since I've included it in my routine.
If you're looking for a new serum to try, Clarins provide a lot of samples for you to give it a go. So get yourself a sample and try it first, and then go ahead and buy it if it works for you.

Have you tried it? What do you think about it?

Freiha Writes x All She Needs: My Top Three Foundation Brushes

Hey y'all! Its Fareeha from Freiha Writes and today I'm going to be talking about my Top 3 Ultimate Foundation Brushes.

A flawless base is key to any makeup look and no one wants to end up with patchy, streaky looking foundation. Over a long time of trial and error, I've found three foundation brushes that have withstood the test of time and performed amazingly in any and every situation.

1) Real Techniques Expert Face Brush:
I've done a separate review of this brush on my blog. You can read it here. This was my first makeup brush EVER. It was an eye opener for me. Its shape is a cross between a buffing brush and a flat foundation brush. Its synthetic bristles buff foundation into my skin very well. You can buy this brush at Flipkart and Amazon. I'd recommend this brush to makeup newbies especially. You'll love it.
As for me, I have an obscene number of backups of this brush!

2) PAC 019:
This brush is one of my more recent acquisitions. I bought it off Flipkart and I've fallen in love with it. Its slanted tip and super dense synthetic bristles make sure that you are able to apply foundation in every nooks and corners of your face, such as around the nose area. With no shedding (post wash), this brush has become a fast favorite. Its quite affordable priced as well!

3) Zoeva 102 Silk Finish Brush: (review here)
This brush is INCREDIBLE. I can go on all day praising this brush. With super soft, dense bristles, this brush is best for applying cream/liquid foundations. It gives me the highest and most flawless coverage out of all the brushes in my collection. A total star! This brush has the softest bristles out of the three I've mentioned in this post. Hell, I love this brush so much, I'd marry it (if it asked, Lol).

So there you have it, folks! My top three, all time favorite foundation brushes! I will get back to you real soon in the next FWxASN post!
